Want charcoal sold under your own brand? Here is how OEM and private-label charcoal works in Thailand — what you can customise, what to prepare, and how the process runs.
If you are a distributor, retailer or restaurant group, selling charcoal under your own brand instead of a generic bag changes the economics: you own the customer relationship, control the presentation, and keep more margin. That is what OEM and private-label manufacturing makes possible — and Thai factories do a great deal of it.
OEM vs private label — what they mean
- Private label — the factory’s existing product, packaged under your brand and design.
- OEM (made to order) — the product itself is built to your spec: blend, shape, size, format, then packaged as your brand.
- In practice the two overlap. Most buyers start with private label (your bag, proven product) and move toward OEM customisation as volume grows.
What you can customise
- Packaging print — your logo, brand and information on the bag or carton.
- Pack size and format — retail bags, bulk sacks, gift boxes, cartons.
- Product shape — hexagonal, cube, pillow, with or without a centre hole.
- Blend and grade — coconut-shell, rubberwood, or a blend tuned to your market and price point.
- Language and compliance text for your destination market.
What to prepare before you ask for a quote
- Your artwork / design files (print-ready) — most factories print your design but ask you to supply it.
- Target product type and price point — premium coconut shell, value rubberwood, or a blend.
- Expected volume and destination market.
- Any spec targets (ash, fixed carbon, burn time) your customers expect.
How the process runs
- Brief — you share product type, packaging, volume and destination.
- Quote — the factory prices the product, printing and shipping (ask for CIF).
- Artwork — you supply print-ready design; the factory proofs the layout.
- Sample — you approve the product and, where possible, the packaging.
- Production & shipment — the factory produces to your spec and ships with full export documents.
Things to know up front
- MOQ per design — custom-printed packaging usually needs a minimum run; ask what it is for your format.
- First-run plate / block cost — some factories charge once to set up a new print (and may waive it — ask).
- Lead time — printing and customisation add time; build it into your planning.
- You supply the artwork — have your design ready to move fast.

Production capacity · OEM & private label
100–150 tonnes a month, depending on season — enough for 4–6 × 40FT
Buyers planning a private-label programme ask the same question first: can the factory keep up? Our published capacity is 100–150 tonnes of finished briquettes per month across the coconut-shell range (Model 400–1000) and renewable rubberwood (Model 100). At our planning payload of 24 MT per 40FT, that is four to six containers a month. The spread is seasonal: coconut-shell supply and drying weather move the number, so we confirm the slot for your container in the Proforma Invoice rather than promising a fixed figure.
Repeat orders
15–21 days from deposit to loading for a specification we have produced before. Loading photos are sent before the ship leaves.
New printed carton
30–40 days for the first run of a new design: printing runs alongside production. Printed-carton MOQ is 1,500 cartons = 15 t per model; sack-packed products are not tied to that minimum.
One container, several models
Mix models inside one 20FT or 40FT as long as each model reaches 15 t. Coconut-shell range EXW Bangkok USD 795–1,230 / t, Model 100 USD 359–500 / t — range set by packaging, not by grade.

What we customise
Your artwork on printed cartons and bags. Your own extrusion die — hexagon or a custom profile. Blend and grade tuned to your market. Pack formats from a 10 kg export carton down to a 1 kg cube inner box, 12 per master carton.
What it costs to start
Design and plate fees apply and are discounted by agreement. Printing lead time runs alongside production, not after it. MOQ is 15 t per model, loaded in a 20FT or a 40FT. Planning figures from our own loadings: 40FT 24 MT · 20FT 15 MT — actual payload depends on the destination port’s policy, the sailing requirements and the carrier’s own rules, and is confirmed at booking. Mixed models accepted.
What ships with it
Certificate of Analysis per batch, MSDS / SDS, Certificate of Origin, and UN 1361 Class 4.2 IMDG documentation prepared in-house. Your brand, our compliance.
